V.L. v. E.L.

V.L. and E.L. (plaintiff and defendant), a same-sex couple, raised three children together; a Georgia court had entered an adoption order making V.L. the children's legal parent. After the couple moved to Alabama and separated, V.L. sought to enforce the Georgia adoption order for custody or visitation. The Alabama Supreme Court declined to enforce it, questioning the Georgia court's jurisdiction to enter the order.
