3519-3513 Realty LLC v. Law

Isaac Rosenberg formed 3519-3513 Realty LLC (plaintiff) and transferred an apartment building to it, making himself its sole member. Rosenberg served an eviction notice on Law and other tenants (defendants) under a New Jersey statute that lets a landlord evict a tenant in order to personally occupy the unit. The trial court ruled for the tenants, reasoning that the LLC-not Rosenberg-owned the building, so it could not personally occupy anything.
