World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. v. Bosman

Bosman (defendant) registered 'worldwrestlingfederation.com,' a domain identical to WWF's (plaintiff) protected trademarks, despite having no legitimate interest in or connection to the mark. He never built a website using the domain, but three days after registering it, he contacted WWF offering to sell or rent the domain for more than his registration costs. WWF brought a UDRP administrative complaint before WIPO seeking transfer of the domain.

Whether an offer to sell or rent a domain name for valuable consideration in excess of out-of-pocket costs amounts to use of the domain name for bad-faith registration determinations.
