Watson v. State

Police found Watson (defendant) asleep in a bedroom at his grandmother's apartment where his cousin, who actually lived in that room, stood near a dresser containing crack cocaine; the cousin pleaded guilty and testified at Watson's trial that the drugs were entirely his and that Watson had no knowledge of them, while the grandmother confirmed Watson was merely visiting and did not reside there. A jury nonetheless convicted Watson of possession with intent to sell, and he appealed.
