United States v. Piccinonna

Julio Piccinonna (defendant) testified before a grand jury investigating an antitrust conspiracy among waste disposal companies, denying knowledge of any agreement not to compete. He was later charged with perjury. At trial, he sought to introduce a polygraph expert's testimony that a test showed he had not lied to the grand jury, but the trial court excluded it under the Eleventh Circuit's per se rule against polygraph evidence, and Piccinonna was convicted.
