Texaco Inc. v. Industrial Commission

The Industrial Commission (defendant) established a spacing unit permitting only one well, covering mineral interests held by both Texaco (plaintiff) and Thompson; after Texaco drilled the unit's sole permitted well, Thompson petitioned for compulsory pooling of all interests in the unit roughly seven months later, and the Commission granted pooling retroactive to the date Texaco began drilling, over Texaco's objection that retroactivity was unwarranted since Thompson took no part in the drilling.
