Regina v. McSorley

Marty McSorley (defendant), a Boston Bruins player, fought with opposing player Donald Brashear earlier in a game; Brashear then taunted Boston's players and knocked their goalie out of the game. Late in the game, on his coach's direction to get revenge, McSorley struck Brashear in the head with his stick as Brashear skated by, violating NHL rules and causing a severe concussion. Canadian prosecutors charged McSorley with assault.
