Lamb's Chapel v. Center Moriches Union Free School District

The Center Moriches Union Free School District (defendant) allowed civic organizations and other private groups to use school facilities after hours for community events, such as screening a child-rearing film, but categorically denied that same after-hours access to religious groups. Lamb's Chapel (plaintiff) sued after being denied the opportunity to show a similar film after hours, and the district defended its blanket exclusion of religious groups as necessary to avoid violating the Establishment Clause.
