City of Auburn v. Hedlund

Hedlund (defendant) hosted a party where an intoxicated guest later drove and crashed, killing everyone in the car except Hedlund, who suffered severe injuries and spent months in rehabilitation. She was subsequently charged and convicted as an accomplice to driving under the influence for her role in the events leading up the crash; the court of appeals reversed her conviction on unrelated grounds, and the City of Auburn appealed that reversal to the Washington Supreme Court.
