Blige v. Blige
Supreme Court of Georgia
656 S.E.2d 822 (2008)
The day before their wedding, Meagan Blige (plaintiff) signed an antenuptial agreement giving her husband Willie Blige (defendant) sole ownership of land he had bought and any house later built on it. Willie did not disclose that he had hidden $150,000 in cash intended to help build a $280,000 home on that land. When Meagan later filed for divorce, Willie sought to enforce the agreement, but the trial court set it aside for his failure to fairly disclose his finances, awarding Meagan $160,000 in equitable interest in the home. Willie sought Georgia Supreme Court review.
Whether a party seeking to enforce an antenuptial agreement must show that the agreement was not the result of a nondisclosure of material facts.
