Arres v. IMI Cornelius Remcor, Inc.

After the SSA flagged mismatched social-security numbers for 10% of Remcor's (defendant) employees, HR administrator Arres (plaintiff) recommended firing those employees as suspected unauthorized workers, but Remcor instead followed the SSA's and its own counsel's advice to let employees correct their records; Arres refused to process the employees' responses, believing Remcor's approach unlawful, and was fired, then sued claiming her termination violated Illinois public policy.
