A document is inadmissible if it is offered to prove the truth of the matter asserted therein, but is admissible to prove that where it was found was the kind of place where drug-related documents were to be found.

Relevant Facts

Federal agents began surveilling the defendant and observed him making several phone calls from a pay phone near his home. Then, the agents observed the defendant meet with a man, make a number of stops, including an inn, and watched him and the man load some items into a truck. The agents then stopped the defendant and the man as they were checking out of the inn. The defendant consented to a search, and agents found cocaine. Subsequently, the agents searched the defendant’s apartment to find cocaine and large quantities of cash as well as a pay/owe sheet. At trial, the prosecution sought to introduce evidence of the defendant’s pay/owe sheet.
